Vixens Under 18

At the U18 level, Fox Football Vixens fully adopt a “Play to Win” approach, marking a significant and defining shift in the players’ development. This stage represents the culmination of the Vixens pathway, where years of learning, growth, and competitive experience come together as players prepare to perform at the highest level.

At this stage, a rotation system is no longer used. Instead, team selection is based on choosing the best player for each position, with the focus on assembling a squad that maximises performance and competitiveness. Alongside technical skill and ability, factors such as training dedication, attitude, and commitment play a key role in selection reinforcing the idea that consistency and work ethic are just as important as talent.

At the same time, we recognise that not every player at this age is seeking a highly competitive pathway, and that’s more than okay. For girls who simply want to continue learning, enjoying the game, and staying active without the added pressure of high-level competition, we ensure there are options in place that allow them to remain involved in football in a way that suits their personal goals and enjoyment of the sport.

By the time players complete this final stage of the Vixens pathway, they leave not only as skilled, competitive footballers, but as strong, resilient young women equipped with the discipline, confidence, and mentality to succeed both on and off the pitch, regardless of the path they choose.
